  • To measure and improve the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment.

  • To track learner progress, achievement, and satisfaction.

  • To ensure staff are supported, developed, and held accountable.

  • To comply with Education bodies and inspection standards.

  • To use performance data for strategic decision-making.

 3-Areas of Performance Monitoring

  1. Learner Performance

    • Attendance and punctuality.

    • Retention, progression, and achievement rates.

    • Learner feedback and satisfaction surveys.

    • Equality of outcomes across different learner groups.

 

 2- Teaching & Learning

    • Observation of teaching and training sessions.

    • Assessment quality assurance (internal verification, standardisation).

    • Staff CPD (continuing professional development).

    • Learner engagement and classroom management.

 3- Organisational Performance

    • Compliance with health & safety, equality & diversity, and safeguarding policies.

    • Employer/partner feedback (where applicable).

    • Financial performance against budget/funding requirements.

    • Staff performance reviews and appraisals.

 4- Methods of Monitoring

  • Data Analysis: Regular review of learner progress, results, and attendance.

  • Quality Assurance Audits: Scheduled internal audits of programs and teaching.

  • Feedback Mechanisms: Surveys, learner forums, staff meetings and feedback.

  • Performance Reviews: Regular staff appraisals linked to training needs.

 5- Roles & Responsibilities

  • Management Team: Oversee performance monitoring systems, set targets, and review results.

  • Quality Assurance: Coordinate monitoring activities, analyze data, and report findings.

  • Trainers & Assessors: Track learner progress, complete accurate records, and act on feedback.

  • Learners: Provide honest feedback to support continuous improvement.

 6- Reporting & Action Planning

  • Regular performance reports shared with staff, management, and stakeholders.

  • Underperformance identified promptly and improvement plans implemented.

  • Good practice recognised and shared across IIE.

 7- Review

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective, relevant, and aligned with best practice.
