1- Purpose
This process ensures all course content, learning resources, and assessment materials remain up-to-date, relevant to industry needs, and compliant with current regulatory and accreditation requirements.
2- Scope
Applies to all courses, qualifications, units of competency, and short programs delivered by IIE.
3- Policy Statement
IIE is committed to:
Maintaining course content that reflects current industry practice and regulatory standards.
Reviewing and updating learning and assessment materials regularly.
Consulting with industry stakeholders, students, and trainers to inform improvements.
4- Review Frequency
Formal Review:At least annually for every course, or sooner if:
New regulatory or licensing requirements are introduced.
Industry standards, technology, or practices change.
Feedback identifies gaps or improvements needed.
Informal Review:Ongoing, through feedback from trainers, students, and employers.
5- Review Responsibilities
Training/Academic Manager
Oversees the course review process.
Ensures course content is mapped to regulatory standards.
Compliance Officer
Monitors changes to training packages, accreditation, and regulatory frameworks.
Ensures updates are implemented promptly.
Trainers/Assessors
Provide input on course content based on student feedback, assessment results, and industry engagement.
Industry Representatives/Advisory Groups (if applicable)
Provide feedback on course relevance and industry alignment.
6- Review Methods
IIE ensures relevancy and currency of course content through:
1- Industry Consultation
Regular meetings with industry stakeholders and employers.
Surveys and feedback on course effectiveness and skills relevance.
2- Regulatory Monitoring
Subscribing to updates from regulatory bodies, qualification authorities, and professional associations.
Reviewing training package updates and accreditation requirements.
3- Trainer and Student Feedback
Collecting feedback after each course delivery.
Analysing outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
4- Validation & Moderation of Assessments
Regular validation sessions to ensure assessment tools align with current standards and industry practices.
5- Education Committee
Annual review of all learning resources, presentations, handouts, and digital materials.
Updates applied where outdated references, examples, or technologies are identified.
7- Continuous Improvement
All review outcomes are recorded in the Continuous Improvement Register.
Updates and changes are communicated to trainers and students.
Revised versions of learning materials are stored in a controlled document management system to ensure only current versions are used.
8- Documentation and Evidence
Records of reviews, updates, and validation sessions.
Education committee and Industry consultation notes and minutes.
Updated course mapping documents.
Version-controlled course materials.
