LOMA

Financial Services Institute Designations (FFSI and AFSI)

A ground-breaking educational program for financial services professionals, the Fellow, Financial Services Institute (FFSI) is a rigorous, 10-credit designation program that provides broad contextual information through seven core courses and customized, job-specific learning through the FFSI’s unique Professional Achievement Credits (PACs).

Recently, LOMA revised the structure of the FFSI program to recognize students at the half-way point of program requirements. This recognition is the five-course Associate, Financial Services Institute (AFSI) designation. The AFSI/FFSI Program allows you to take courses in any order, although the recommended course progression begins with Level I, which is designed to give students a solid introduction to

■ Financial services and products

■ Concepts and tools involved in personal financial planning

The FFSI’s seven “core” courses and three PACs provide a comprehensive study of the

■ Legal, economic, and business environment of financial services organizations

■ Marketing of financial products to individuals and organizations.

The requirement of three PACs provides the opportunity to customize the FFSI Program for students’ needs. PACs are credits granted by LOMA for demonstrated professional achievement in such financial services product areas as annuities, mutual funds/brokerages, retirement plans, and banking. Students earn PACs by passing courses, obtaining licenses, or earning designations offered by LOMA and other organizations around the world.
