First, the general framework

In light of the increase in the number of insurance companies working in the insurance of property and liabilities in recent years, whose number has now reached (March 2022) to 23 companies, more than half of them started their business in the last ten years, most of the new companies were forced to attract experienced workers from companies operating in The market In addition to the appointment of many new graduates, in addition to that, the old companies were also forced to use the new graduates to compensate for the transfer of competencies that moved to the new companies.
In light of this, it is clear the importance and necessity of quickly raising the efficiency of new workers in the insurance market to maintain the efficiency of work in the market and fill the current deficit as a result of the steady expansion of insurance activity in Egypt in recent years, which is expected to continue for other years to come.
In light of the desire and need of many companies working in the field of public insurance in Egypt to raise the efficiency of their two years, the Insurance Institute in Egypt, as the training arm of the Egyptian Insurance Federation, has prepared a specialized diploma in general insurance, which aims to develop professional skills and provide trainees with the required scientific and practical experiences, which It is expected to have a positive impact on the insurance industry in Egypt.
The Insurance Institute in Egypt, in partnership with the Egyptian Insurance Federation and co-sponsors of the program (there is no one yet) supervises and monitors this diploma and selects qualified elements from university professors and insurance company experts for teaching and training. The Institute also provides all appropriate educational means, as well as choosing the best methods Evaluation for both learners and trainers to ensure the application of comprehensive quality standards in performance, and then achieve the greatest training return for participants and insurance companies.
Second: Scientific and practical goals
The General Insurance Diploma consists of four specialized and integrated programs that enable learners to familiarize themselves with the scientific foundations and basic principles upon which the property and liability insurance industry is based, as follows:
The first program: Risk and legal and regulatory principles of insurance
After studying this program, the student should be able to:
• Understand the nature and characteristics of risks and insurance.
• Identify the structure of the insurance market and its main characteristics
• Understand the main legal principles that govern insurance contracts
• Understand the main regulatory and legal principles applicable to the insurance industry and the role that the insurance watchdog plays in Egypt
• Knowledge of the main aspects of the ethics of the insurance profession, corporate governance and internal control.
The second program: the main products in general insurance
After studying this program, the student should be able to:
• Learn about insurance products and services related to the general insurance business
• Understanding of underwriting and document drafting in general insurance.
• Learn the principles of how premiums are calculated for different types of insurance.
• Understand the basic principles of compensation.
• Identifying the principles related to the impact of the terms of the document on the claims of clients.
• Understanding of information and communications technology, security, confidentiality of information and the protection of customer data.
• Understanding of customer service in the general insurance activity.
The third program: principles of underwriting in general insurance
After studying this program, the student should be able to:
• Understand the basic principles related to the underwriting process
• Understand general insurance underwriting procedures
• Knowing the factors of underwriting in the main types of general insurances.
• Understand renewals and cancellations in connection with the subscription process.
• Knowing the essential differences between personal and commercial insurances and the impact of this on the underwriting process for each of them.
• Understand the main auxiliary insurance services available.
• Understand the principles and practices of pricing in general insurance.
• Understand the basic principles of reinsurance and its role in protecting the company.
Fourth Program: Management and Basis of Claims Settlement
• Understand the general principles of the claims settlement process
• Understanding of insurance products and associated services.
• Understand legal and regulatory considerations in managing customer claims.
• Understand the claims settlement procedures and associated customer services.
• Understand how to manage expenses and expenses associated with claims settlement.
Third: target groups
This diploma mainly targets the following categories:
1- New employees in various insurance departments in insurance companies.
2- Experienced workers in insurance companies who wish to consolidate their experience with scientific foundations.
3- Workers in insurance departments in companies not operating in insurance (the insured).
4- Workers in insurance brokerage companies and appointed brokers in insurance companies.
5- Graduates of Egyptian universities who wish to work in the insurance activity in the future.

Fourth: Study system and plan
The duration of study for this diploma is six months, at a rate of two lectures per week, each lecture is three hours long. These lectures include the following:
1- Explain the basic concepts of the scientific content of the diploma.
2- Panel discussions conducted by industry experts on the basic coverages available in the Egyptian market.
3- Discussions on the legal and regulatory requirements of the insurance industry and how to comply with the instructions of the Financial Supervisory Authority, and these seminars are run by colleagues from the authority.
4- Workshops on new and updated coverages in the field of general insurance. These workshops are run by university professors and industry experts.
5- Monthly periodic evaluation.
6- A written exam at the end of each program.
